Hello!
I have a Kkaki Campbell Hen sneezing:( she doesn’t do it like all the time but I’ve seen her sneezing the past3 times I checked on her. This is her first winter.. is it just cuz it’s getting cold? It is in the 40s right now and getting colder everyday. Her sneezing looks like: when she cleans her nose out in water but she is doing it out of water.
I have VetRx stuff that really helped our chickens with an extra boost last winter. We put that in our chickens water and it helped a lot!! Should I give my duck this? It just gave them an extra boost and I think they liked the Mint taste it smells like Vick’s vapor rub. She I give this to her? Or what should I do? We are in the middle of winterizing their house now. And they always have clean water . Thanks💛🦆🦆🦆💛

Sorry, you haven't received a reply yet. How is she doing?

There are several reasons a duck may start sneezing, luckily it tends to be nothing serious, and is almost always environmentally related. Do you have a video of her sneezing? To post video, upload it to a video platform like Youtube or vimeo, and copy/paste the link here. Could you guess how many times she sneezes a day? What brand of feed are you feeding them? What kind of bedding?

Powdery-like feed, or dusty/high ammonia bedding can cause sneezing throughout the day. I would personally avoid Vetrx.

@Isaac 0 thank you for your respond! I haven’t seen her sneeze today so far. Before she was sneezing maybe 10 times that I could see. Which isn’t too bad but concerned me. We use straw and give them pellet food. Could it be because we just gave them a layer mash? Like it was almost a dust. I don’t have a video sadly but if I see her doing it again and have my phone I will definitely try! Thank you!!
Not sure the brand of food but I will tell you when I feed them later.

If the feed was dusty, that may have been the cause. I'm glad to hear she's doing better. It might be best to switch to a less dusty feed.
