Duck spring deworming

What’s everyone’s feelings regarding deworming before spring for ducks??

I asked a similar question a while ago and was told by the more experienced duck-keepers that ducks don't need a preventive deworming on a scheduled base.

I have never wormed a Duck. Definitely not needed until you see an issue.

I don't de-worm unless one is not doing well or I see worms in poop.

What are the symptoms of parasitic worms?

Weight loss, depression, poor feather coat, looking sickly, a decline in egg laying, etc. Of course, all of these things can have other causes too.

If you are really concerned, find a vet and start having routine fecals done.

Ducks are very healthy birds unless they are kept in filthy conditions and not allowed to bathe, they might come down with worms. I have never wormed, I feel there is no need to given that they are in great shape. If your birds are walking around in feces all-day, I suggest you have a wormer on hand or reconsider your management practices.
