Duck stopped nesting

So I previously posted asking for advice on moving a duck nest that is in an unsafe area. We have not moved it yet but suddenly Diane (mom duck) has stopped nesting on it. She was on it constantly until the last couple of days and now she hasn't seemed to go on it at all and all the down is gone from around the eggs. Any ideas?

There are many things that might cause a bird to leave its nest-predators, noise, etc. Not all ducks are good brooders and mothers; true for any specie.

The down was probably taken by mice, chipmunks, ... and other birds to make their own nests.
