My black runner (10 weeks old) had previously quacked but now it sounds just like our drake. Is it possible for a drake to quack at first and then develop the raspy voice later or is it more likely that it’s a hen with a respiratory infection or something like that? Nothing’s changed in routine, still eating and all that

Panting, not eating and drinking, sitting down and not doing duck things.
I saw panting towards the middle of the day but then again it was 100 degrees and she was headed to the kiddie pool... I’ll check again when it cools off. Still wasting and drinking and no signs of lethargy.

When it's hot out like that , do you offer electrolytes in their drinking water ?
