i have a duck named aldo she is probably about a year old. She has always seemed healthy and she was always drinking eating laying eggs and overall was just a healthy duck. This afternoon around 11 she was fine and I fed them and did my normal thing then around 6:30 I went back out to put them away and she was unable to move she was trying to use her head and wings to move around and was still trying to eat and drink water and seemed to be searching in the ground as if she was looking for bugs but without moving her body . Since she couldn’t move and I am not sure if she’s sick or not, I brought her inside.

Symptoms :
- unable to walk but can somewhat stand seems more like a balance issue
- difference in breathing
- still drinking water and eating slightly
- able to flap wings
- can hold head straight up with no problems with neck
- no eye cloudyness or liquid from eyes
- maybe a slight drip from nose
-normal poop
- main concern is just not being able to walk

Anything Helps . Thank you !

What breed is she and what is her diet?
I feed her all flock pellets so it’s also for ducks not just chickens and today I let her swim in the tub and I noticed it’s mainly one foot that seems like the hock joint is slightly swollen I bought some niacin supplements today and have been giving her peas . But I am not sure what kind of duck she is I ended up getting her from my neighbors who didn’t want her and were hardly feeding her so I think she has been lacking the right nutrients for some time . I just hope it’s not to late for her to not be able to walk again

It could just be some nutrition deficiency from her last home, she'll probably be fine now that she's getting proper care with you. She might have a pulled muscle.
You can post a picture of her so others can identify her for you.

Good idea I will once I get home I’m out buying more peas currently she seems to like them .

Can you post a picture of the swollen hock joint? Is there any sore on the bottom of the foot? Could she have been injured by another duck or animal?
