duck sunburn?

I have a two-week-old Pekin duckling and im not quite sure if he is pulling his wing fluff out or if he is just loosing his dander to grow in his feathers. anyway, his skin on his wings look red and it started about 3 days ago. all of a sudden, after a day of being out in the sun, I noticed that his wings were very bright red. is this a sunburn or just his skin? can ducks get sunburn? if so, is there anything I can put on his skin to prevent a sunburn? if he did get sunburned, is there anything I can do to put on his wings to soothe his skin?

on the day that I created this thread, his wings looked way more red than they do in these pictures. he is healing but im still curious as to what caused it.
