~Duck Whisperer~
Hi all,
So, about 2 days ago our Cayuga x Pekin duck hatched out 2 ducklings (and also adopted a deformed ducklings from my work which is now like one of her own) She is a very good mother, showing her babies where the water and food is, keeping them warm, and doing motherly things. Then yesterday I still noticed that she was lying down heaps, maybe form the transition of broodiness and laying on the nest, to raising babies? Then I realised that on one of her legs, (I think her right?) she isn't putting any pressure on as it must be very painful to stand. What could it be? She went from sitting on legs to a nice contained area that is safe for her babies. And I don't really want to touch her to much because she gets very stressed when we meddle with her+babies.
There is no visible injury but when I did get hold of her and was feeling the leg she reacted to the knee...
-also if you want a video just telling you now I can't get videos on here
What should I do??
