After reading this thread, I am convinced some sort of surveillance camera like Isaac 0 suggested might be the way to solve a lot of this unexplained activity.

I can suggest a camera that works well. actually two or three different ones from 60$ ish to 120$ ish

Pen is under improvement currently hence the mess of stuff around.
