I've got a female Khaki Campbell who is my baby. I would love to breed her, and I'm thinking about getting some mules out of her with one of my Muscovy boys but they are more than three times her size and very rough with her. She's my delicate little flower and my mommy sensibilities won't let me subject her to that lol! I got an Indian Runner boy that was sexually mature to be her boyfriend last year, but I quickly figured out that he had never in his life ever been around other ducks. He had no idea what he was, he didn't even seem to know what grass was! He humped the t-shirt I gave him to sleep on during quarantine, but it took him months after I put him with my baby girl to even try to grab the back of her neck. She presents to him all the time, but he grabs the back of her neck and then humps the ground next to her. I have never once seen him actually get up on her back.
So back to my original point: does anyone in the LA area of SoCal want to do a duck trade? I'm specifically looking for a sexually mature Khaki male. I've got her current boyfriend who doesn't know how to mate but is a sweet-heart fawn and white IR that I'd be fine with trading, and I've got a bunch of Muscovy males (some three months old, some will be one year old in May) that I'd be willing to trade to get at least one Khaki male.
If no one has anything, how about some advice for getting lover-boy up in the saddle?
