Duck trouble

Okay hewy is doing much better all the swollen parts are going away now and he looks happy he tries to walk put like his other foot with arthritis seems not wanting to help him

This may be a longer term project, the arthritis. There are foods that are anti-inflammatory. You may need to do some research on this.

Question to all: anyone know if MSM is helpful for ducks? It is used in dogs for joint inflammation.

@yelya, do you have your duckling on a good unmedicated duckling/chick starter like dumar, flock raiser, manna-pro, or co-op starter even (if no specific for water foul feed available)? would a cradle type thing to suspend duckling in, like the runner bumpers for babies help keep the duckling off itself but let paddle and get strength ect back? do the legs look overly splayed and underdeveloped for so swollen and infected even? I was reading that storey's guide and others said to do half strength for water foul for same size ect as other foul, cause water foul drink so much more water.. anyone have any first hand experience, or opinions on, or did i not get the whole excerpt from it?

Okay guys it it possible for me to give hewy asprin while taking the baytril because he got one more day and he looks like in pain since we took off the scab and took gunk out

Aspirin is hard on the kidneys of water fowl, can you soak his leg in some Epsom salt water[warm water] that may help. and Metacam is rec for water fowl.

Side track sec.. i am trying to dig out all the willow trees in and on pond of property renting, after neighbor cut field. for hay and all them down mostly. will the willow roots ect in and around pond hurt the ducks that i haven't found and dug or cut out yet, or poison water they swim and drink? they maybe eating the willow they get at before i do?

Okay I'll do that and great news guys this Thursday I'm going to take hewy to an actually vet for poultry and see what the vet tells me about his arthritis and if he needs surgery I'll pay whatever amount it takes to get walking again
