Duck trouble

Okay hewy update is doing really good and he able to walk baby steps alot more now he is always happy and he tries his best to walk ever day I got another appointment for him in 2 weeks again to see how he's doin and if he needs to open him up he will open him but other than that he's all happy

Great news. I hope he keeps on getting better, we love it when they do. Thanks for updating too.
 
Sorry I haven't been doing updates been super busy okay well today hewy is doing great he can literally stand up and walk a little bit then he sits down again and he does not use his wings anymore to stand up :)

Yea his bumblefoot is gonna away and they swelling also gone down the only one that's still a little swollen is his arthritis foot
 
Okay I got some bad news :( hewy can't walk normal anymore I took him to vet and he told me that the infection went through all his bone and destroyed it but he still able to walk around a little bit with his buddy

Drew Ducks, what does the Vet recommend? Even bones that have been damaged will come back eventually. If it were me, I would be thinking about either a walker or a splint of some kind to get him through this. Also, if you do plan on doing this, you might want to think about adding some sardines, without salt, to his diet. Protein and added calcium can go a long way to heal the damage. I would also add a Cod Liver Oil capsule to his feed every day as well. You don't need a high dose one.

This will have to be thought about and understood that Huey may never be 'normal'. Doesn't mean he won't be happy, doesn't mean you will love him any less. It just means he will always be a special needs guy and will require extra TLC. My pea fowl are like that and I wouldn't trade them for the world.
