Can ducks have twins? I was up in Amish Country in North Central Ohio, and we were at an Amish store that sold "double yolker" chicken eggs. Is that basically twins? Or would the eggs never hatch. Can ducks have them too?

I would think that it would be twins but I have read that they won't or will have a hard time hatching. Which chick would do all the work unzipping the shell? Would both ends unzip? There really isn't any room for both to grow. Hmmmm. I think it is best not to try it.

i know chickens have double yokers. yes, this would mean twins. Two yolks= two embryos. usually you would want to watch them as they hatch. normally they do need help since they cant maneuver as well to zip.

Can two embryos in one egg even survive incubation? Wouldn't it get too cramped in there to manuver in order to pip into the air cell?

And don't even get me started on egg-in-an-egg!

I found this video on youtube. The duck twins were very formed, but died. Sad :( The woman in the video is a bit odd, but it does show how the ducklings DID form and were perhaps close to hatch?
