I didn't want to spend any more money than i had to on ducks (two Pekins), so i was looking up Pinterest waterers, and came upon this vinegar bottle with a hole cut out of it. It won't get poop in it, and i can make it for literally nothing, but will it work? I am concerned that it won't be enough water for the ducks. does anyone have any better suggestions (I want to keep it low cost) and can anyone tell me if this would work?

I think I might use a milk jug when they are little, and then move to vinegar bottles when they get older so i can make the hole higher and it can hold more water.

I am using a food grade 5 gallon bucket. I cut a hole in the side so they can fit their heads in, but reduces splash. I also have the lid on top to prevent things from going inside. I did milk jugs, but they don't hold as much water and are flimsy.
