Duck weed for chickens?

I have a wee pond in my garden. When I'm cleaning out the duck weed my hens go crazy for it, and for the pond shrimp bug things too.
Is it okay that chickens eat duck weed - or should I just get ducks instead?

I wouldn't hesitate to let them eat it.

I would let them eat it too. Usually chickens do not stuff themselves with food that is dangerous for them.
Unless it's my birds and a hunk of insulation styrofoam

Anyone who owns poultry knows that you shouldn't get ducks "instead", but "in addition"

Duck weed is fine (good, actually) for chickens.

Also, you can feed chickweed to your ducks (once you get them - I mean, come on...you already have a POND).
