My 4 month old Pekin Duck Cotton has a broken toe. It is the middle toe on his left foot. He tries to walk but his left foot curls under him and he falls down. There is no swelling and it looks exactly like his right foot. I could only tell it is broken by feeling it. He did not seem to mind that I was touching it. What can I do for him? Any ideas to help Cotton are greatly appreciated. THANKS!!

could you make a splint/boot for it from a large adhesive bandage like the ones sized for knee injuries? Are you sure it's just the one toe that is the issue? If the whole foot curls under and he can't walk on it, I'd try making a "shoe" by putting a bandage on the bottom of the foot, then tape the foot & bandage to a cardboard base and use vet wrap, the white firstaid tape, or even duct tape for some stability for that foot. JMO

ETA oh, by the way, WELCOME!!!

ETA again to add: I like the name Cotton for your duck!

Thanks! How long do I leave it on? Cotton is currently living in the bathtub with his foot in a cast. He had two broken toes.
