Hello.
One of my ducks has a bit of bumblefoot. I soaked her foot in Epsom salts and I was able to remove some of the scab/dark tissue. It bled a little bit but stopped. I then applied Vetrimycin and Neosporin and wrapped the foot. She is in my basement in a pen with her sister. I'm keeping her on dry wood shavings. What is my next step? Do I do another Epsom salt soak later today? Or would that burn since some of the bumble is open now? Do I just soak in water and then try to get off the rest of the scab area? This is my first time dealing with bumblefoot, so I'm just wanting to make sure I'm on the right track. Thanks for any information you can provide.

Sorry nobody responded. The core had to come out of your duck's foot. How did this turn out?
Just seeing this now. Ha! I ended up getting the core out after putting on an epsom salt poultice that is made for horses. I wrapped it with that on there, was able to get out the core, put on antibiotics, and she healed right up. I don't have the ducks anymore, but if we ever run into bumblefoot again, I'll be doing the same thing.
