I have noticed that he has been doing that more often lately. But it may have been that he was panting from hot weather, do ducks do that?

I think so, it does not get very hot here but i have seen panting in sick ducks. She had a vitamin deficiency.

Sorry for the WAY late reply. The duck turned out ok! I just made sure there was plenty of clean water and the problem resolved. Now he has an eye injury ‍♀
