Duck with injured eye

I can get her eyelids open a little more today than yesterday. She laid me an egg this morning but didn't eat any food overnight. She still only ate the spinach readily so I went and got her girlfriend Blackbeak hopefully she'll eat with her today. I've got to go to work, I'll update after her bath when I get home tonight.

When I first saw her eye, it didn't appear to have a scratch but I didn't stain it either. Now it is too swollen to see in there but at least I could get her lower lid down a little this morning to apply the ointment instead of just getting a little opening to get it into there.

It was only a couple baby leaves last night and tonight. She did eat with Blackbeak today. Her eyelids are open a little bit tonight too! She got a little of the pill on her tongue tonight, she kept shaking her head more and had her tongue hanging out and drinking a lot. I'm excited she's feeling better.

I used to grow spinach for mine until BYC's ronott1 mentioned it might not be good for them, so now I grow kale, swiss chard and collards. :D

Glad to heard she's feeling better.

Oops, just found something I posted that says I shouldn't feed chard either since it also has high levels of oxalates.

How is she today?

She is still improving but both were NOT happy about the dog crate. So I let them out to run, I'll grab her tonight for her meds after they put themselves to bed and I'll put her back in the crate so I can get her in the am before work without having to chase her. She immediately went out and started dabbling in the grass for goodies and ate and took a super long bath in the pool
