Unfortunately one of my pekin ducks is very weak. She has feathers missing from her wing and isn’t putting any pressure on her foot. She isn’t eating- not even her favorite treat. This happened last night. However last night when she would walk her wings would kind of opene up and she would just try to stand in one foot. today it seems to have gotten worse. She won’t walk at all. she was able to move about half a foot but with her whole body on the floor. However she is drinking and today she ate a couple peas. It’s her left wing and foot that seem to be injured. Any ideas on what I should do? Will electrolytes help?

Sorry to hear about your duck.

Could you post a few pictures of her, or upload a video of her to a video platform like Youtube or Vimeo, and copy/paste the link here?

I recall, that you keep them on a pond? Do you notice any bruising, wounds, or bones broken over her body? If you see anything abnormal, post a picture.

As you can see there is feathers missing on her wings mostly left wing. She is leaning on the right side of her body. I was touching her left foot to see what hurt but no reaction. The only other foot that could be her is her right but she is leaning on that side of her body. So if it was the right foot that is damaged why would she be leaning on it? I haven’t checked that foot yet- i feel like i’ve already been bugging her a lot today. She is still drinking water. I saw her eat a bug this morning but she’s not eating her regular food. She is now eating her treats but nothing else. She can’t stand, she drags herself on the floor but she’s only dragged herself twice and only moved about half a foot. Otherwise she won’t move at all. This happened yesterday and they were at the lake which makes me feel guilty. I shouldn’t of let them go to the lake by themselves. It’s all my fault that this happened. They left around 5pm and went to go get them at 8:30pm and when she got out of the lake she could barely even walk. I had to cary her home. Yesterday she could walk a bit but struggled A LOT. Now she can’t walk so it got worse but at least she’s eating a bit now. Something at the lake attacked her because she was perfectly fine before she left. She is the only one that is hurt every one else is fine.

Also, I went and bought electrolytes and had to grab a smaller container that she could reach. Will electrolytes help her?

Before we continue, can I ask if you can take her to a vet?
I wish I could, but I don’t think that the vets around me will take in my duck. Even if she did I cant imagine how high the bill would be. I just feel completely useless right now. I don’t know what is causing her not to walk. I put her upside down to check her legs and they both are perfectly fine. No swelling, or other unusual things. I blend up some tomatoes a couple times a day to keep her eating and add some peas, should i continue doing this? She won’t eat her regular food even if i add water. I am putting electrolytes in her water. However She is really attached to my other pekin duck that I bought her with, she would always follow him around and quack like crazy when i picked him up and walked away with it. I’m thinking that they were mating while they were at the lake, but I don’t know if mating could cause so much damage. Besides they are only 11 weeks and I don’t know how early they start mating. I have my injured duck with the other pekin duck she’s attacked with but with limited space because if he walks to far she will try to walk to him. I’ve been reading and they say to put her in a dark quiet place but I don’t know if she would like it if it was just her. Also, Should I put her in the lake to see how well she swims or at least to take the weight of her legs just in case it is her legs that are damaged or will it make things worse?
