Help! First time duck owner here. One of our female ducks recently (withing the last week or so) began breathing with her mouth open and sneezing/coughing. When she breathes, her whole body moves with her. I'm thinking it's a respiratory infection, but not sure. Unfortunately we don't have access to a vet. I saw something about a nebulizer but I don't know the best course of action. Help appreciated!

I've dealt with quite a few respiratory infections in my ducks, and it sound like that's what your bird has. I'm no vet, I just have been through the wringer with my ducks and all their respiratory issues... these are things that I've done and helped.

She will need antibiotics to get better. You can order Baytril on mybirdpal.com I believe when one of my ducks was on it she was getting .3-.5mL orally with a syringe trice a day. Other people on here can chime in on the actual dosage- it's according to body weight.

You can also try the nebulizer- put her in a covered kennel with a humidifier in it. My vet has me do it with just water, but if you have Oxine (can get on Amazon) you can mix that 6oz per gallon of water and use it that way. 20-30 min twice a day should help.
