Duck with lame leg. Please help!

Hi friends! I have a seven month old black Cayuga duck that has been having trouble walking for nearly a week. It seems her left leg is the problem. I have 3 females and 1 male. They have been laying eggs for a few weeks. They are enclosed in garden area during the day and a pen during the night. I feed them egg layer, cracked corn and household scraps. I do not see any visible injuries or swelling. She is eating, drinking, pooping, preening and was laying an egg a day u til two days ago. However, she

can pretty much only lay around. I have kept her separate from the drake because I believe he is very aggressive and keeps trying to target her. I just brought her in the house and gave her a bath. I am considering trying to do a splint. I started her on a powdered vitamin today. I’ve been reading other people’s posts for hours now. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I can not afford to take her to a vet.

It does appear to be a bit swollen. I would consider keeping her separate and still while she heals since you think your drake may be bothering her. You should start some B complex, it's sold at TSC or the human kind. Twice a day.

Also, you could think about switching your birds to an all flock feed. It's offered by several different brands, it's what a lot of us with mixed flocks use.

I agree with @DiYMama540 start her on the liquid b. Complex it’s an inexpensive treatment and even if not a deficiency it can help support if An injury. TSC has the best one 1 ml a day or 2x a day over a tasty treat. Cut back on the corn for now it is empty calories and can be cutting into the nutrients she could be getting from her feed. The drake could be the culprit so having her away from himself a good idea.

. It says injectable but we use it orally over a treat.

I think for sure keeping her in the house with you to rest seems like a good place to start. I wonder if the drake is hurting her mating?
