Hi there.

I have a special needs Pekin with a swollen cheek I assume is a sinus infection.

She’s been on amox/clav for chronic bumblefoot. But I am wondering if I should switch her to tylan 200 or Baytril until it resolves.

Are either one better? Can you get tylan without an RX? I have Baytril on hand but not Tylan.

Thanks for your help and guidance.

Hey sorry to hear about your duck. How is she? She appears to have gunk in her nostril. Can you clean it out?

I don’t have experience with ducks, but you can get antibiotics here without a prescription:

Otherwise you’ll need a vet to get a prescription. Is vet care an option for her?

Vet care is an option if we need it. Thank goodness. I got her on Baytril. I’m also massaging it back to front and we got quite a bit of snotty stuff out. But it just keeps filling back up. I’ll give the Baytril a chance to work and see how it goes.

Thank you for your response.
Of course :) sorry it took so long for a response. Let us know how she gets along. I hope it clear up well.

How long has she had that lump? Is there a chance it’s a been sting or something?

She’s had it for a few days. She’s special needs and that’s the side she can’t scratch to help clear her sinus. So im guessing infection.
