Duck with swollen feet

One of my friends raise ducks and she was asking me for help. 3 of her ducks have swollen feet-one ankle and the other 2 with swollen toes. She has looked at them and she doesn’t see any scratches or injuries on them. She thinks it is an infection of some sort because the area is warm and soft, and feels like it is filled with fluid.

That’s what I originally thought but she checked for that and there were no splinters or injuries on or near the swollen areas

Also she feeds them solely scratch grains and I’m not sure how to tell her that’s not a good idea

I would tell her immediately. Feeding only scratch grains is very unbalanced and doesn’t provide birds with the nutrients they need in order to thrive.

Ok I explained why feeding scratch isn’t so good, so now I guess it’s up to her now
