I have 6 khaki campbells, 7 mos. old. A week or so ago, one of them began acting weak and having to lay down and rest. She has to flap her wings to keep up with the others, and has to keep lying down and resting. Some days, she doesn't do this at all and has normal energy. She seems to be eating, drinking, foraging, and laying normally. Tonight, one of the other ducks was acting this way too! Anyone know or guess as to what might be going on? Thanks!

They haven't been dewormed yet. I'm with them when they forage. They're after bugs mostly. The only plants they'll eat are chickweed and dandelion. I feed layena pellets w/ oyster strong and free choice oyster shells. They're not over or underweight. We're in the northeast.

I think it's the feed they are on..Ducks do not need layer feed..It should be an all flock that specifies its for Ducks...Water fowl feed is best...Chicken feed is for chickens...Balance must be off in nutrition....

You could go to tractor supply and get a dewormer. Safeguard or Valbazen.Valbazen (.08 mls per pound). Safeguard is 0.23 mls per lb so a 5 lb duck would be 1.15 mls per day for 5 days. It won’t hurt them to get the medicine even if they don’t have worms. And you should know in 24-48 hrs if they are feeling better. Right @casportpony?

You could also try some vitamins in their water if you are concerned about their diet.

No weird mushrooms or stray metal pieces in the yard?
