Duck yard almost finished!

Lucky's new digs are almost complete. We are adding a gate today, then she gets to spend some quality time OUTSIDE! We'll still keep her inside overnights, her feathers are only 1/3 in. I hope she gets over the separation bit pretty easy:/ I'll post pics when we are all finished!

It will get easier for her as you ween her off. A few hours outside will make that happening in no time. Isn't it fun watching them grow up.

Lucky has been outside every day for a week now. It took her a few days to like the pond, now she loves it! We have been working on her digs with her right there, then moving away for a bit to start weening her. I should really say that my DD goes inside. Doesn't matter if I'm holing Lucky, she's not ok until little DD comes back out of the house. The minute Lucky hears her, she starts peep/quacking like crazy and runs in her direction. It's precious!
