Hello everyone my dear friends. Can you give me an instruction of how to raise a Ruen duck well? I mean about the feeding and things like that? Our ducky is a 2 year old Ruen and is about 2 kg? I heared he should be over 4 kg... I would be happy if you could tell me about ruens... Thanks in advance 💜💜

How long have you had your Rouen? Is she laying eggs? Do you have other ducks? What are you feeding her? Can you feel the keel bone? It's the breast bone you can feel when you pick them up, that's running down the center of their chest.
Here's a chart that shows approximately what you're looking for .

An adult Rouen should weigh 3 to 3.5kg (6 to nearly 8 lbs). The keel bone will tell you if you have a seriously skinny duck or if she is just a very small duck.

Ducks are best fed on commercial duck feed that provides balanced nutrition. If your ruen is a very small adult, duck layer pellets are good. They typically are 16 to 29% protein. If your duck is skinny she needs deworming and feeding with a higher protein duck feed: 20-22%. She would also benefit from extra vitamins and minerals, for example Rooster Booster Poultry Cell, added to her drinking water.

Ducks can eat peas and mealworms as treats. These are high protein. They also lije chopped lettuce and water melon but These may have some vitamins but they don't offer protein so avoid them if your Royen is skinny.

Ducks are flock animals and need other ducks to thrive.

Are you sure your boy is a Rouen?

Could you post pictures of him, please; so we can see for ourselves if he really is a Rouen drake, and if he looks healthy?

Also, it would help if could answer some questions...

• What do you feed your drake, exactly?

• Has he an unlimited access to his food - including at night?

• Does he have access to grass?

• Does he have duck friends?
(You don't mention them...)

• Does he have a pool to swim?

Please : tell us EVERYTHING you can think about your drake.
Even the smallest detail could help in figuring out what is wrong with him... IF there really is something wrong!
