Duckies got a new pool!

There was someone on here who also had a Harlequin that looked like a male but it did quack and it was ordered sexed as a female. I forget who it was. I'm glad one is a female. The first group of ducklings I had this year all 4 turned out to be boys!

If the light one is female I sure hope it gets a dark bill...that's what I loved about Harlequins...their dark bill. They all seem to have a female quack...but I'm not quack expert.

Welp, the quacks are in I think I have 2 males and three females. I just got some geese the other day to put with my ducks at the pond, they seem 100% fine, could I go ahead and put them with my duckies? I got them on Thursday.

That is one of the things I love so much about the Harlequins too...and guess what, none of my girls bills turned black. My girls' bills look a LOT like yours and I got mine eggs off ebay too. I bet we got them from the same person. My girls' bills are actually lighter than my boys. But they are sweet ducks and I really like them anyway.

Really!? That kinda stinks! Did you get yours from vrmathis0? Mine are just starting to kinda like me. Do you have any pics of your Harlequins?

Yes I did. I do have some pics somewhere, I'll find them and post them later on. Mine will eat treats out of my hands, other than that they kind of keep their distance. But they are still very pretty even though they aren't the "standard".

the female is on the right, you can see how light orange her bill is.

This is all 5 of my harlequins, sorry it isn't a closer shot, maybe I'll try a larger one later.

This one you can definately see her bill.

That is pretty cool! I was supposed to get 6 Harlequins and only got two...they are going to be my breeders. Now I am almost 100% sure I have a pair. I guess I sexed them right as babies. Alright! I love looking at pics of them...they are such beautiful birds! Mine are almost there. Yes, they are..that's for sure!

They sure are pretty! How old are yours, and did they look like mine as babies?

I hatched one like that.

We originally named the duck Oscar thinking it was a boy (mom hatched it in a garbage can turned on it's side). Then it started quacking....LOUDLY!!!! So keeping with the Sesame Street theme, we changed her name to Abby Cadabby. This is the loudest duck EVER. I was going to sell her, but now I am keeping her to get revenge on my new neighbors with the yappy dogs that go off at 4am

In general, the patterns on a WH can be wildly different. I have 3 I know for sure are purebreds and they don't look anything alike.
