Hello,

A friend of mine had a picnic and found four mallard ducklings. Brought to me for rescue, coz i'm a rescuer! So, the same scenario as last year's! Ducklings are dying! I couldn't tell why?!
I put them in a box with wood shaving, water, starter chicken food and a heat lamp above. They were playing normally. I went to check them, found a one dead with legs stretched back. What do you thing is wrong?

You might consider giving them a water source they can dunk their entire heads into, but not swim in. That way they won't be wet most of the time and get chilled.

Also, I recommend putting a thermometer in/near their habitat so you know exactly how warm it is in there - if you don't have one already. You can get a reptile thermometer that has double sided tape on the back.

Yeah 40 c is way way too hot, also you didn't mention if you are a licensed wildlife rehabillitator, but if you are not you will need to find a local one and surrender the ducklings to them.
