Hi all
I have a 6 week old duckling who escaped his run yesterday and ate some Mugwort.
He’s a Black East India cross, so a bantam or miniature breed (idk what this is called in the US)
He ate a small a leaf lower down on the Mugwort plant before running off (as we were chasing him
)
I got some water into him immediately and he seemed surprisingly fine, but this morning I found him on his back with shaky legs. He had obviously been there a while as he’d made quite a hole in the bedding.
Got him up and he was a little shaky for a moment then has been absolutely fine all day. Eyes bright, running around, happy as a clam.
I’ve given them extra treats in water today to get some extra water down him but I’m wondering how long toxicity takes to get going?
It’s been 24H nearly so I don’t know whether to administer activated charcoal because surely the Mugwort has left his stomach by now?
Thanks so much for any help
