Duckling attached to shell...Need advice urgently please!

My first baby hatched a few hours ago but is still attached to the shell by what i think is the umbilicus, the poor little thing is just layed there sleepy and occasionally tries to free itself...what can i do to help please?
I'm scared we're going to lose this baby, it seems very weak

Can you take the shell apart until just a bit is attached to the chick? The cord should dry out and fall off after a few more hours.

I've just done that and put it back in the incubator, the poor baby can't even lift it's head itself...will it dry out being in the humid incubator? or should i move it to the brooder under the lamp?

She'll be fine in the incubator for two or three days. She'll lift her head eventually. Any flailing around is normal.
