With the shelf liner do you just put one layer of it down. How do you keep them dry? I would try it again if I thought it would work for me. I sure am tired of washing out the towels - but I found that the bottom of the brooder was wet. Maybe it is because of the type of water dish I was using. I am using a plastic butter tub this time and it sure keeps most of the water off the floor. What do they lay on when you put the liner in there. I put a folded towel up on one end for mine to curl up on and go to sleep.
