Duckling bit by black snake 😭

Another thing is putting a stuffed animal in with the duckling so it has something to snuggle up to and if you have to keep it in more than tonight becasue of the wound a safe mirror can help it feel better since they love looking at themselves.
Be sure to check in tomorrow and let us know how the little one is doing.

I just put her in a box, with some soft towels and some food that i wet with warm water, and some water, and a stuffed Tweety bird but i haven't found a mirror that i consider safe yet. She slept on my chest for a long time, then moved around to the back of my neck 🙂🥰. So we been hanging out and i been trying to take care of her. I put some more vetericyn on her open wound hole, and she looked at me and the Tweety bird like we were the stupidest things on the planet. I said omg i know your momma, and you definitely got her attitude. 🙄 Well, the attitude might have come from your dad too....your mom is his mom too🫤🤔😳....but his little attitude is so bad, he had to be put in bad duck jail today because he was harassing the whole flock. She just looked at me again, with the look that her mom gives. If looks could kill, I'd be dead right now....😒😵💀 Death by rude Muscovy eyes.

Attitude is exactly what Muscovy have they are born with it and keep it all their lives. Little stinkers. But that is what I love about them. I have two girls that just turned 13 yrs old and they still have it. lol

I hope the little one had a good night and you did too @ducklover128

@ducklover128 any updates on your duckl
It seems ok. I been applying veterycin to its wound, and it has been upgraded to the walk in shower instead of it's little box. Last night I sat the box in the shower and not long after I heard the baby hollaring, so i run in there, to find the baby walking around in the shower. My guess is the accomodations were not suitable for Mr. or Ms. Lydia.....🙄👑 So, it has the shower now, and is still snuggled up with its Tweety bird. Fingers crossed, it will be ok. I just wanna hold it and cuddle it and love on it, but im afraid handling it too much will hurt it. Any ideas on that? My house duck, Ms. McPoodles just passed away almost 3 weeks ago. She was my baby. I love her and miss her so much it hurts. I've cried for 3 weeks over her. I'm still crying, but this little baby is killing me bc I just wanna snuggle it. 😭. I never had a duck before Ms. McPoodles, and she was a tiny little few day old baby when we got her. She opened my eyes to how super amazing ducks are. If anybody would have told me 4 years ago that I'd love a duck this much and it would pass away and utterly destroy my heart and soul and leave a feeling of emptiness and loneliness so severe id wanna die, I'd have thought they were crazy. So can somebody please let me know if it's ok to hold the baby if I just lay it on my chest or neck? Please? I don't wanna hurt it though, or do anything to prolong it's recovery. Thanks in advance

Of course you can hold it and love it. I had a Muscovy duckling I had to take away from his mama becasue she wanted to kill it when it hatched and he was my baby boy. He stayed inside with us and our dogs slept in a dog bed during the day for naps and in a large dog crate for over night I did this until he was 12 weeks old then I moved him out with everyone but he still came inside and visited us every day. I just lost him this past March he was 12 1/2 yrs old. They make wonderful pets.
Does the wound look to be closing up good?

I may be attracted to Muscovies because of the attitude as well. 🤔 I have my own attitude, and they are the only things that can match or exceed it. 😆. The males are so sweet and adorable until "puberty" hits.....just like all my brothers were. 😆. Now I got a bunch of jerks running around the yard chasing females and trying to fight each other. I couldn't help but think my drakes are so sweet and they run in a little gang together and love each other....🙄😒🤔. Sometimes I shock myself with how naive I can be. One male, bo duke, over threw Mr. Scovy and ended his reign over the compound, and then bo went crazy. He was so ornery and hissing at everything, and of course fighting everything, even the turkey Tony, who is disabled. we had to build him a lot to separate him. I said omg, at this rate, we will have 10 runs with 1 drake in each of them. But I love them. Patrick, junior, whitey bulger and the one that has no name yet, are my flock members and I love them. I can't imagine giving them away and not ever seeing them again or not knowing what somebody will do to them. The owner of the feed store, said he sales his to a guy that takes them and has them in the freezer within 2 hours. ☹️😥 I said no I can't sale to him. So I guess we will have the whole 6 acres split up into drake lots. 🤷🏻‍♀️🦆🦆🦆🦆 The females will just fly across the yard and escape the drakes. We have 6 sisters that stay together all the time and they spend all day in the creek. We have a small waterfall and they stay close to that. It's deep enough for them to swim there, and they love it. I cannot make them move to somebody else's house when they love the creek so much. I can't split them up. They sit on top of the chicken coop or the duck house and watch everybody. They just look so judgmental. Lol I know they sit up there and talk about us all. "Look at those tall half naked ducks....their feathers (our human clothes) are so ugly" 😆 they remind me of the 2 old men on the muppets that sat in the balcony in the theater and talked junk about everything and everybody. I know already, lol I'm not built for "farm" animals. They are pets and I worry about all of them and their feelings. 🤷🏻‍♀️
