Duckling broke his leg :-( Please Help

It’s only 2 days old and it’s getting weaker as the hours go by, I’ve thought about humanly putting it to sleep but I’d like to see if there’s any solutions to help it first.
Two days old, not eating, not drinking, and a broken leg, that's one I would probably euthanize. Since it's not drinking or eating it will need to be tube fed, but tubing one so small is not easy and requires the use of a small tube which could be hard to find. If you decide to treat it I can guide you. :hugs

Breaks below the ankle (hock) are easy to fix, tibia not as easy but doable. Femur, that is one I have not been able to fix. :(

It can move it’s thigh, from knee down is where there’s no movement

I dont feel anything horribly different between his two legs. But i can see it when i help him stand. these are my first ducklings. There seems to be a tiny wiggle to the tibia bone and it certainly causes him pain.
The last tibia I fixed had a serious fracture near the knee. I tried making a splint like the one in an avian splint manual, but it proved too difficult for me, so I did as you mentioned in your first post and taped her leg to her body and left it alone for two weeks.

I’m using a syringe to give it water, I’m not sure what I can feed it though, any ideas ?

Do you think he will need two weeks in his at his age with how much they grow almost daily?

I did just offer some Nutri-drench water with vitimin b and Niacin he is drinking. I also gave him extra via syringe to. If complaints and fighting show anything this little one is going to be a fighter about his treatment.

Yeah, they do grow fast and I was worried about that too. Mine did okay, so I would say keep a close eye on it and re-wrap if it looks like it needs it.

An X-ray would be best, but it is not needed. I have successfully set severa fractures, some of them even had bone poking through the skin, and though trial and error I have found it's best *not* to use things like popcicle sticks and other hard objects as the will do way more harm than good.:idunno
Here is a splinting manual I use as a reference:
