I went to a farm today to look at the goslings. They were all sold, so I decided to buy some runner ducklings. The guy took them straight from the incubator, put them under the light until they were mostly dry and home we went. He also threw in 2 quail as a suprise. I know nothing about quail!

So the question is, I keep reading different temps for the duck brooder. I have been keeping it around 98 F because they seem the most comfortable. I guess that is really all that matters, but what is the official word? Is it the same for quail?

Keep the heat at what they seem comfortable with. They will let you know if they get too hot or too cool. If they came out of the incubator and you took them home that quickly they are still trying to regulate their own body temps. Watch for shivering or jerking type movements.
