I recently went to RK and came home with a duckling who seems to be deformed. His head is sideways - constantly. He also has a very hard time walking. I've been giving him poly vi sol (without iron) and mealworms for protein along with his regular medicated chick starter feed. He isn't getting better. I'm wondering if anyone has any advice. I'm thinking it may be wry neck.

Take him off the medicated started and switch over to non medicated or flock raiser. If it is wry neck, the medication in the feed (which is typically amprollium) is a thiamine blocker. A thiamine deficiency can cause neurological issues and wry neck. You might also want to sprinkle a little brewers yeast onto its food, its a good source of niacin (or look for a feed that contains it, they carry waterfowl feeds at most farm stores). Niacin deficiency can cause leg issues in waterfowl.

Good luck, I hope it gets better!
