Duckling can't walk

I figured out that my baby duckling has a splayed leg.. since I couldn't do the bandaid tie I cross checked with a vet nearby n they have refused to do.. please tell me what to do.. I can't see her crawl..

You know that pic you posted I was wondering about splay leg but it also looked like he was preening and that was why his leg was out like that so I never mentioned it. very sorry.

Ducks are very resilient, they just need someone who cares and is willing to help them.

Thank you so much.. I made his braces myself.. he seems to be comfortable.. m happy seeing him being ok.. now he can walk around anytime he wants.. this group does so much good to people who care for their pets.. love to see like minded people.. m so happy.. keep continuing the good work

My duckling with braces ate the rubber band that was tied around.. I couldn't find them in the morning.. she eats normally.. she's playing too.. she seems to be normal.. what must I do..? I want it to be flushed out.. help me please..

@jendarwin how large are the rubber bands? if small they may pass on their own. We have a list of flushes for when they get into something toxic but I am not sure they would work for getting rubber bands to pass. Make sure the lil one has some good grit because they[rubber bands] will sit in the crop area for a while and that is where grit is used to grind up their feed.

I'm giving him grit like crumps.. it's difficult to find grit nearby.. it's a long rubber band m too scared.. she seems fine.. poops often and I keep checking but found nothing.. she is eating well too.. can you give me a list of flushes please.. if I can try them n see..

These flushes can cause problems of their own unless followed according to the directions so be aware of that.

What is grit like crumps? sand works well as grit too. You always want to give grit in separate dish from feed and they will use as needed.

You could also try activated charcoal, but just a little bit. It helps flush things out. Only use a little because he is a duckling.
