Hi all!

SO. The small yellow patch on two of my little ducks has gotten larger, and instead of their grey fluff getting darker it seems to be getting lighter. Their feet which started out mostly dark grey/black have also lightened. The toes are dark and the webbing is pink.

I'm pretty confident that the dark one is a Khaki Campbell (that's what we thought we were buying anyway), but I'm not sure what the others are. Is this the result of a white duck breeding with a KC? (Sorry for the poor lighting!)

It is very possible, they do look like a cross between a Pekin and a KC. Their white bibs and other coloring traits are coming in looking like Swedishes. Very cute!

They are pretty cute, aren't they?! I can't wait to see what they look like when their feathers come in!

:welcome @KateySue where did you buy your ducklings?

We bought them at Rural King. These three advertised as Khaki Campbells, and three yellow ones advertised as White Layers.

Okay, now I'm thinking if all the rest were advertised as purebred, they may be hatchery stock, so they must be male Golden 300 Hybrids, which, the drakes, basically do look like chocolate Swedishes, although, I've never seen the ducklings sporting fluff that displays the Swedish coloration this young. (Golden 300 Hybrid Layers are a cross between KC and Black Swedishes, hence why they turn out to be sex-linked: Brown drake over black hen.)

We'll just have to wait and see, please do post pictures when they're adults.

Interesting. So if that is the breed. @KateySue best start looking for some females. lol Maybe they will get in some Golden 300 Hybrid layers in female.
I can't see what else they'd be, unless they're mixes, but I edited my post to say I've never seen the male ducklings sporting fluff that displays the Swedish coloration.

Here are a couple more pictures. The one of the kids in the grass shows the grey color much better than them wet an under a dim bathroom light.

The sign at Rural King just said Khaki Campbell. I knew that wasn't what the little yellow fluff balls were, so it's completely possible that the sign was completely wrong. I did successfully vent sex one of the little grey ones as male. The other one I wasn't sure about and the other 4 I felt were too big to try that method when we bought them.

Guess we'll have to wait an see!
