I noticed something else weird about my new ducklings... I am probably just being an overly worried mess, but some of the ducklings are drooling... it's a spitty type fluid that is coming out of their mouths, esp when they get picked up... any ideas?

I've seen that before when they get picked up. I can only speculate, but I think it just kind of scares them and they sort of vomit. I've seen this in all types of domestic fowl, but all are always healthy and never have any problems from it. It is most likely a defence / scared mecanisme. If this is all they are doing, I would'nt lose any sleep over it.
Good luck

Just make sure that you are not putting pressure on their gizzard (aka crop). If it is full of water, they can up-chuck slimy goo on you.

thank you guys sooo much for letting me know. I've heard of duckie vomit before but the drool was worrying me a little bit. My first two ducks did not have this problem at all, so i was concerned. But thanks! We're being extra careful when we have to pick them up!
