Please don't read this if you have a weak stomach.

I have four ducklings around 4 1/2 weeks old.
Recently I've noticed a bit of diarrhea in their brooder.
Normally their droppings are a bit more formed and a lighter color, but lately at least one of them has been producing a chocolately brown soupy poo.

Could this be a sign of some kind of illness?
Should I get them some probiotics? Are probiotics okay when they're this age? I know normally they are given just within the first couple of weeks.

Any help or advice is greatly appreciated. I don't want them to get sicker if there is something wrong!

Does it look like this? (Gross poop picture below)

Runny duck poo is totally normal. They drink so much water it comes out...watery. If you start to notice blood in the poo, then it's time to worry.

Mine get a bit of that from time to time - otherwise all seem healthy. While we are on the subject, I also noticed that when they get nervous the stink gets worse.

I think its normal, am assuming it is,, I usually see one of those a day from somebody..
sometimes it seems one does it just from being excited when I get home or when they
know they are getting a treat .... lol

My daughter calls that a "seven poop"

About every seven craps, a part of the bowel empties itself. It's a little fermentation area, and the poop looks just like that. And it smells MUCH worse than the normal poops, if that is possible.

Wonderful!
Thanks everyone so much! You all must truly love ducks to be so patient with all us duck noobies who post panicked questions about normal occurrences.
