Question,
I have duckling eggs in the incubator that are due in 8 days HOWEVER, 4 of them have progressed much faster and the air sack is already half the egg and it is possible that they were sat on by the chickens before collecting. Should I make the call and lock them down and stop turning or proceed and wait for the 3 days out?

One more note, I did have a duckling hatch 2 days ago, perfectly at day 28, and perhaps they hear her peeping and it is speeding things up?

You don"t have to lockdown until you see an internal pip. Candle them everyday. Once you see shadowing or an internal pip, then you can lockdown.

Can you explain to be what to mean by cooling?

Yes, shadowing is when you can see a bit of “overlap” inside of the air cell. Looks like this:

Sure as heck,

Day 21 took them out to candle and they are starting to internal pip and there is shadowing. Sprayed lem and locked them down, looks like they will be early.
