Duckling eye infection/blind?? Help!!

I agree, there are lots of things that can be tried. Of course a vet would be best, but one could start by cleaning it and applying an antibiotic eye ointment. Eye ointment should *not* contain any steroids, so read the label before applying.

Many of us don't have avian or waterfowl vets, nor the funds! So we try to help each other the best we can.
Personally, I'd just keep it rinsed and clean, and hopefully it doesn't get infected. Saline rinse would be safe, and the other things suggested.

I would do all that has been mentioned until you get a vet apt if that is possible.

Terramycin is an antibiotic ointment for eyes which may help also you never know till you try.

I agree with these suggestions...

Vet is best if possible, but that's not always possible for some or in budget for others... many vets won't even look at waterfowl or poultry and are only comfortable with regular house pets or large livestock...

Keep eye clean as possible and apply whatever ointment you can get... Terramycin like this if you can get it would be best...

But even a simple triple antibiotic ointment like Neosporin or generic brand would help... I wouldn't use the ointment with pain relief in the eye though...

Eye infection is a simple thing to treat if it is just kept clean and ointment is used...

Thank you everyone! My ducklings eye hasn't gotten any worse. I couldn't get the terramycin as tractor supply was out of it. The lady suggested vetericyn plus antimicrobial ophthalmic gel. I have him in the bath tub and eyes starting to open that eye back up so far we have some progress!!! Thank you again everyone!!
