Duckling Feed

The last 2 posts have great advice. Niacin is included in water fowl feed formulations and helps avoid problems with weak legs and associated injuries.

Do they need Niacin just as ducklings or should I be adding it to their water for their whole lives?

Just during their big growth periods, I gave my ducklings brewers yeast sprinkled on their feed until 14 weeks old. Some may say longer orthers not as long, but I just wanted to be sure they had strong legs.

They need niacin their entire lives, but they can get it from green plants. So once they are adults and wandering around, eating what they find, you don't need to supplement any more. Maybe if you have snow all winter, you would add a bit every now and again.
