My two week old duckling seems to "filter" out most of her food into the water dish. Is this normal, and what can I do to get her to actually eat it?

This is normal. You can try putting the food father away from the water, so that they eat more in one sitting before dashing off for water... or just be thankful you don't have 20 of them.

My ducks do this as well sometimes. It's pretty normal. I think it just helps them get their food down easier.

My water buckets are not right next to the feeding troughs, That way they can still have the water close by but they don't get the feed as wet.

Thank you everybody, I thought so, but I also thought it would be nice to hear it from some people who would know.
So, If I took the mash that she sifted out, and just dished it right back to her is there anything wrong with that? hee hee!

As long as it doesn't go bad, like in the summer or warmer months it could grow mold pretty quick, I think at the end of the day I would toss any feed that was wet. Thats what i do.
