DUCKLING FOOT CURLED IN. NEED TO KNOW WHAT TO USE AND WHEN.

Best of luck to you and please post pics of your baby duckie
Here you go! I still have one mallard and one Muscovy in their eggies. They have both pipped and a little more. I am just letting them do their thing. Hopefully they hatch tomorrow sometime. I can't wait to see that Muscovy! I feel like I have been incubating it for months lol.

Love new baby pics :)
I had one that had curled feet for a few days. He Also had a bad hatch and once hatched we realized why. He had 2 air cells one at each end blocking his growth space.
Unfortunately yesterday I had put him down after 3.5 weeks of trying everything I could to get him going
We had really good ups but then back down
He had a bad curve like a v to the side of his neck bone and even with help from a back and neck specialist we couldn’t get it right
I am still broken hearted as that was the hardest thing I have had to do
He had so much energy and wanted to thrive
Just his little mind was much more ahead of his body’s abilities.
He is truly missed

Oh no! I’m so sorry! He’s with the birdies in Heaven ❤️🦆😇

When should I begin food and water for the babies? The oldest had water yesterday. The first hatch I did I gave them food and water ASAP but I dont think that was the right thing to do. It has been 24 hours and 12 hours for others in terms of how old they are old.

I put kale, anchovies and spinach in the blender with water and made a "Lucky duck smoothie" for my quackers. I caught it early enough to fix the pigeon toe problem, but I had to continue the high Niacin diet through out his life or his foot would start to turn in again..

I’d give the little ones door a day or 2 to straighten out and if it doesn’t then make a shoe for it (straighten it out put it on thorp the “shoe” and wrap with vet wrap. As far as food and water I think you’re fine to provide it but it may be 2-3 days post hatch before they start really eating or drinking. I believe we gave ours good and water around 24ish hours (after the first hatched babies).

Congrats!

It’s perfect now I think! I appreciate the advice. He was so scrunched. I’m sure that’s what did it.

I would introduce them to feed and water when I moved them into brooder
They will eat and drink when they are ready
I usually move mine in 8 -12 hours as soon as they are dry abc running around in the incubator
Some eat right away others nibble bit font really care for 24-48 hours
But all drank water

Gave them some water for now with chick electrolyte.
