Duckling has a weird spot

My new duckling, Sugar, has a funny looking black dot on her lower belly. I can’t tell if it’s attached or just matted in fur. Does anyone know what this might be?

Could it be where her umbilical cord was attached?

I’ve had chicks that still had a stump from their umbilical cord but it was either above/below their vent, can’t remember. Never had a duck young enough.

It's where her umbilical cord was. Similar to how human babies still have a little stub after it being detached that eventually falls off completely.

I agree it's likely the umbilical cord. More then likely the duckling hatched, while there was still a little bit of "flesh" left. It should fall off on its own.

Yes. It will fall off on its own. Just be careful not to rip it from his/her body.
