My ducks are on Day 27 so I know they aren't supposed to hatch until tomorrow. However they started rocking last Thursday and were rocking pretty steadily so I went into lockdown a couple of days early. They aren't rocking nearly as much anymore and I don't hear anything out of them. Should I be concerned? This is my first duck hatch so I am very excited for these things to pop out. They are in a Brinsea and I have been misting them every once in a while these last couple of days because humidity is not staying very high.

If you've hatched chicken eggs and been impatient, you're about to go crazy. Ducks seem to take forever!! Keep the humidity up and be patient. It takes these guys a little longer to get out, even though they have an egg tooth, their beaks don't break the shell as well and the shells are thicker.

I was thinking the exact same thing. My ducks always start rocking on day 23 ish and then stop right before hatch. My last hatch of ducklings, I only had 5 eggs in there, but they were all alive. My LAST one pipped and halfway zipped and then turned around in the shell. Little stinker. I finally had to pop the top off and I was greet with a fat duck butt. He managed to back out of the egg.
