Put it on a non-slippery surface. I use the rug gripper stuff in my brooders. After 24 hours if it's still doing that, you will need to make a boot for it.One of my ducklings hatched during the night and it's left foot is twisted inward. How would I go about making a boot?Put it on a non-slippery surface. I use the rug gripper stuff in my brooders. After 24 hours if it's still doing that, you will need to make a boot for it.
I use painter's tape, because it comes off easily without ripping their skin.
After 3 or 4 days of wearing the boot, I let the ducklings swim in warm water. It helps loosen the boot and you can take it off and the duckling should be healed up.
