Duckling hatching

I have a question regarding hatching. In what position should the egg be in the incubator when it’s time for lockdown? The incubator I have have the slots so that the eggs are upright... can ducklings hatch okay like this? Or should the egg be horizontal with the air sac end propped up a bit?

You need to lay them on their sides with the slanted part of the air cell facing up.
