My baby Call Ducks stayed in a tote for a week on thick paper toweling.
But now that i see them the puppy pads would be better.
I moved them to my shed to a wire bottom rabbit cage at 1 week old.
I have a large piece of board that they eat and sleep on under a brooder light.
You can easily scrap off the board and wipe it off when needed.
Their water is a gallon jug with small round holes cut out in it so they can drink but not get into it.
It's located close to their board but not on it so when they drink the excess water falls to the ground.
They have access to the rest of the wire bottom and run and play there.
I kept my cayuga's in a wire bottom pen till they no longer needed the light.
Then moved then to the ground.
I plan on keeping my call ducks in a off the ground pen permanently.
Theres a site with housing plans and i'm building the one that has a swimming container in it.
