Hey everyone, you probably see posts like this all the time. I bought a duckling from my local tractor supply store and I'm not sure what it is... I've been raising ducks and chickens for about a year now and I don't know what this one could be unless it is a cross breed or migratory breed (which they claim they can have at random because they get ducklings in a group order and not by breed). It looks like a Mallard or Rouen but it has a partial pink bill. I really don't what it is, any ideas?

Pink around the top of the bill and I've never seen any Rouens or Mallards that had that. All had black bills.

Does anyone know? Any posts will help, even if you say you don't know haha. (It'll let me know I'm not the only one.) I know I could just wait to see what it becomes but I'm curious to know.

That's what I was thinking too but all that pink on the bill was throwing me off. I've never seen a pure bred Mallard or Rouen with it.

We have hatched mallards with this beak coloring. Eventually as they mature, their beaks will become solid. However, if you keep track of that duck and you look real close you will see lighter areas where the pink once was.

You have a little cutie!

Ok that'd be great if it's a Mallard. It was throwing me for a loop haha. Thank you

It has 2 eye stripes which is what you see with rouens. They can have some pink on their bills.

I don't think TSC gets mixed breeds. They order from a hatchery and I don't see hatcheries doing mixed breeds.
